All these new decks are cool, but let’s sprinkle in some Tarot history! Most people think of Tarot decks pre-Golden Dawn as not having illustrated pips, but the Sola Busca deck from the 1400s was the first deck with illustrated minors! When Pamela Coleman Smith created the iconic images for the Rider-Waite Smith deck,  you can clearly see the influence of the Sola Busca deck. Look at those 3 of Swords! (SB on left, RWS on right)  This is a really awesome deck, but unfortunately very difficult to find a copy of a reproduction. Lo Scarabeo put out one a few years ago, but their historical decks go OOP fast!
